What is KwiQlook?
KwiQLook is a new service from CHE-LGT that is designed to quickly and economically answer the key questions for any firm interested in evaluating local hydrocarbon potential. Before KwiQLook, it might take six months and tens of thousands of dollars or more to obtain even a portion of information about a play that KwiQLook provides!
How does KwiQLook work?
At CHE-LGT we use EIGHT PROVEN techniques (see list below) to bring
a multi-layered approach for the best subsurface insights. This approach provides the critical answers to the main questions firms have for evaluating a potential play. These questions are;
1) What are the structural features that may provide hydrocarbon closure,
2) What are the likely properties to be encountered in the lithography layers in proximity to the play, and
3) What geophysical evidence exists that provides positive (or negative) confirmation that subsurface hydrocarbons are present in the vicinity.
Not just information, but interpretation
While other companies may provide one or two pieces of new information, LGT provides not just eight datasets but eight interpretations for each dataset. Finally, LGT combines these datasets (see figure to right) over both the target area as well as analog fields to enhance subsurface insights for local play potential.
G&G Measurements Used
Geology and Hydrocarbon Indicators
Radiometrics
Determine locations of radioactive signatures of faults as well as hydrocarbon indications.
Thermal
Provides images of salt domes or shallow sand channels, especially those charged with hydrocarbons.
Hyperspectral
Identify detailed mineralization in an area including indirect changes due to hydrocarbons.
Well and Play Analysis
Well Analysis
Cross-correlates formation and production parameters with various
measurements.
Formation and Isopach Maps
Utilizes well control, field geology, and previous analysis to build and/or refine
formation and isopach maps.
Structural Analysis
Gravity
Determine subsurface faults and fractures, combined with gravity for determining
structure and composition.
Magnetics
Detect subsurface faults and fractures, combined with gravity for determining
structure and composition.
Geomorphology Analysis
Four different datasets are analyzed and combined to identify and classify subtle faults and fractures that correlate with potential trapping mechanisms or hydrocarbon accumulation.
